The Environment Agency in England and Wales has banned its staff from taking domestic flights. This comes as the WWF has published a report into UK government departments' carbon emissions.

What a surprise... :hmm: Wont be long until all Pom gov workers (Pollys excepted) will be banned from aircraft.

Here's something for the poms...

PROFITEERS have jumped on the "doom and gloom bandwagon" surrounding climate change and are cashing in on the drive for "green" technologies, according to TV presenter and author Johnny Ball...

“In the climate change debate there are three kinds of people – those who latch on to the doom and gloom bandwagon and make huge profits with so-called green technology contracts that, without subsidies, they would not touch with a barge pole as they would be unprofitable.

“Then there are those who preach doom and gloom and urge us to turn technology backwards and not forward.

“And finally, we have those who have confidence and faith that by following true science we can improve every area of our lives.”

“The increasing shrillness of the message about global warming has about it a certain messianic flavour usually associated with religious faith rather than empirical or scientific knowledge”

Assuming this carbon emissions crap isn't a lot of bollocks, has any of the carbon emission nazis bothered to work out the true emissions of alternative means of transport.

For example if you walked instead of taking the car, have they worked out the amount of emissions created by that person walking, including the extra energy required by that person to walk and the extra food needed to provide that energy and the carbons emissions created to produce that food?

On a side note, have these emission nazis worked out the true cost of the hybrid cars. The cost (enviromental, carbon emissions, and financial) of producing and disposing the batteries is never mentioned.
