CAA => JAR Class 1

Hi guys

Does anybody happen to know how much it would cost to renew my <lapsed> CAA Class 1 from 1997 to get a full JAR Class 1? (I had the EEG on initial examination, after I established that it was free!!!)

Also, are there any other new delights to look forward to apart from the haemoglobin test?

On a sort of related issue, an AME told me that a class 1 renewal was cheaper to do at Gatwick than with a local AME. Does anybody know if this is true?

not being an expert on this sort of thing I can only tell you that it cost me somewhere in the region of £300 for the initial examination. I bet they will consider this to be and initial because your class 1 has lapsed and it wasn't a JAR one.

Cheers RavenX. Thing is, some of the tests are only done at very long intervals, e.g. chest X-ray. Having said that, this is the CAA we're talking about. If it's any consolation, they're very polite and helpful as their highly trained doctors skilfully remove your last month's wages!
