A few from yesterday's D day celebration at Old warden, sadly the weather played its part in the proceedings with dismal visibility in the morning and torrential rain that closed the show prematurely.

Phew, things must have been pretty desperate if we had to use some of those old biplanes over the beaches of Normandy!:ok:

At one stage the commentator said that the DC-3 could not appear as planned because it was "damaged at Dunsfold" the day before.

Anybody know anything about this?

Great pics; thanks. I last saw G-AHKX at Shoreham in 1962 so good to see it still flying.

Old Warden is always magic and its own planes and visiting planes a glory to behold.

However, I too heard that the Dak had been damaged at Dunsfold and I wondered what had happened to the BoB Memorial Flight and the big band.

Firstly many thanks for all the kind comments.:)

Given the dire visibility in the morning I'm sure the pilot/operator of the Dak would have scrubbed their departure to OW. The Dak was supposed to come from Aces High, which was quite a surprise as it rarely features at displays these days. can anyone confirm the damage it suffered.
