Ladies and Gents,

I'm on the Help For Heroes fundraising committee up at RAF Lossiemouth, and I'm currently trying to get a teddy bear in a pilot outfit flown in as many aircraft as possible. He will eventually be auctioned off to make money for the charity.

If you are able to help out with the flight side of things, I would be most appreciative. You can contact me on:

LOS-ACES-PSS-SNCO EFDC

I am hoping to get photos of all his exploits, which will be burned to disc to go in the auction package. You can see them on his Facebook page. I'm also trying to drum up some 'freebies' from the Squadron's, so again if you can help out, please get in touch.

He's called Flt Lt GRR Moray, so if you'd like to become his friend on Facebook, just send a request and stick PPRuNe in the message line.

I have also created a JustGiving page to enable people to donate towards my target of £250. It was deliberately set low so it didn't seem like a huge mountain for people to climb with donations, although the target may increase judging by current donations! If you feel like you can help out, then please have a look here:

Thank you for looking.

The fact that Help for Heroes exists is a shocking indictment of the UK 'govern'ment.

More emphasis should be made on making the government look after UK armed forces, not a charity using the ****ty s*n rag.

UK forces should want for nothing.

Mikip,

I am currently recording all his flights and qualifications on type in his own RAF Form 414:

Airpolice, that sounds great, thanks for the PM. Will give your contact a ring shortly.

Artyhug, can you PM me details? Pancakes are fine, but not so sure about the schmoke!!!

Only £56.00 from reaching the target, if anyone fancies chipping in?

Thanks,

HP

In the 1980's, Dunsfold offered a flight in our company demonstrator two-seat Harrier G-VTOL with a Test Pilot as a prize for 'Children in Need'.

The BBC turned it down as 'too dangerous' !!!

Most of us would have chewed an arm off for such a chance.

Still, I suspect that's going to be a very well travelled bear, don't stop at your target ! Has he been to the Falklands yet ?

Wishing you and your 'customers' the best,

DZ

Thanks for your support guys. I can report that the target has been met, exceeded and now extended to £500! It took just eleven days to get there. :ok:

I will be in touch with all of you who offer to take him on flights, it may not be straight away though. (He now has a very busy schedule!).

Thanks once again,

Don't forget your sister base just down the road. They have hosted a whole host of different types recently including 9 multinational C130s, a Luftwaffe Typhoon det, USN P3s which would have been great in the logbook.

CQWI and UGSAS are coming up soon, over 60 visiting aircraft of all sorts of different types!!;)

Check your PMs.

Well done!

I hate to say this, but we really do have to exercise complete control over these charity runs, walks, climbs and money raising activities. We try hard to help, like Sean Hughes, wheel chair bound and an 'aviation nut' as you can see above.

But..............these pages cannot be used for promoting a worthy cause. We do try to assist in a smaller way than some would like, and for really 'special cases' but that it not what PPRuNe is for so its sorry again.
