Sorry if this has been asked before, but cannot find it.

I am considering upgrading to 7 from XP sp3, and would like to pick any brains for advice.
1. Is there any advantage of upgrading yet or best to wait until 7 is well proven.

2. I am considering taking out the old HD and replacing it to load 7, therefore if any problems then I can drop the old one back in.

Ideas please.

Personally I wouldn't bother unless you really need some feature that XP doesn't have. Otherwise I'd just wait until you buy a new computer.

I recently bought a new laptop which came with Windows 7 and while it's better than Vista (e.g. copying files doesn't take forever) I'm yet to see anything that makes it a real improvement over XP other than features like DX10 that Microsoft deliberately refused to release for XP.
