HONG KONG (Dow Jones)--Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. (0293.HK) said Thursday the South Korean government will fine the carrier about HK$26 million because of its air-cargo pricing practices.

Cathay Pacific said it has yet to receive a written notice about the fine from the Korean Fair Trade Commission.

The airline will review the government's decision with its legal counsel and explore the options available, Cathay Pacific said without elaborating.

News of the fine comes after the U.K.'s Office Of Fair Trading alleged in late April that Cathay Pacific and Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. had colluded to set airfares on passenger flights between London and Hong Kong, which is in breach of competition law.

But the airline said it might may avoid having to pay millions of dollars worth of fines in the case if it fully cooperates with the investigation.

How dare the Korean's, like the A.O.A. question our managements ethics, or hold them accountable! Did they not read N.Rh's briefing on how proud we are on all our achievement awards!! From business awards to social responsibility awards, we are truly exemplary leaders.

At least the pilot's are only hot air, not like the pesky flight attendant's that actually challenge and embarrass us.

I'm sure that CX employees will pay this fine, along with the others, through their profit share.

Beta, if you want to add credibility to your posts, you don't use apostrophes to denote plurals. You may enjoy a book called 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves', which is about punctuation.

Beta,

Don't worry too much about Dart and his interpretation of credibility.

'Traditionally, credibility has two key components: trustworthiness and expertise'

This c**k smoker practices credibility by 'expertly' hiding behind the jump seat request system, pushing his own form of 'industrial racism' in a pathetic attempt to increase the membership of our imploding association. Funny how he will not confirm his view on requesting Jump Seats from non-members when the need arises?

Tell me Dart, is it Flap or Flap's, Long Sleeve or Sleeve's, Cuff link or Cuff link's. I think we all know your pedigree.

Here is a book title for you to enjoy;

'Glad to see your education is not getting in the way of your ignorance', by C.N. Dart. A self analysis of a condescending loser, who has no enemies but is hugely disliked by his friends and who will happily sacrifice his principles if the occasion demands.

Thanks Johnny, I was not even going to reply to Capt D, I also could not help to associate him with "Flaps vs. Flap" when I read his post.

I am so sorry the Queens English is not my first language. I'll rather stick to speaking four languages then to worry about my English grammar. Capt Dart, I am sure you will find it disturbing that I got a 6 on my Language Proficiency.

I'm sure your spoken English is fine, but maybe your other languages use apostrophes to denote plurals? If that is the case, I apologise. The book is a good read, though.

Rokape is easily amused, isn't he?
