View Full Version : Flying Tourist Safaris?

Does anybody know if there are still Flying Tourist Safaris being sold in Africa? Years ago there was some people with an old PBY doing the Nile and points south, but it ended abruptly. I have a couple friends wanting to do the real exotic high end thing. Of course my ever boring stories of Africa and the occasional SA visitor had something to do with spurring this interest, thus I would prefer not to be sending my friends to their deaths. If someone would be so kind, I would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Try Hanks Aero Adventures, out of Lanseria, South Africa.
They do taylormade flying safari, all around Southern Africa!
They do a really good job, it' a familiy operated business, very well organized!

...and I thank you for all of it.

More than anything I'm looking for an established and on-going flying tourist organization that could easily handle six people, (three couples), for private "safari" of about three weeks duration. These are aviation oriented people not looking for any license coversions, but rather a relaxed and interesting time.

Bukela Africa Safaris (http://www.bukela-africa.com/safaris.html)

About the best in the business. Cape to Cairo, and anything inbetween, custom tailored.

It would be really interesting from the point of view of someone who also thinks of doing this, to hear how you get on?

It is quite a performance navigating around. It's just an on line reservation engine is it not although the amounts of money charged are quite staggering?
I got a quote for four people arriving Johannesburg to get to/from and stay for 3 nights at Damaraland Camp for R107,242.53. That's working out at around about £1,400 UK pounds, per person, per night. That's steep for a do it yourself job on the internet.
Perhaps it is better to go to a professional up market agent who is used to putting together exclusive packages at these sort of prices like A&K or even -and Beyond.
