Flight Ops announced CV signed a contract with World Airways to operate a 747-400F for them beginning Oct 2010......

Bad news for all wannabees, seems like business is picking up, but outsourcing, too......

Anybody confirm that info?

This is normal ops in CV. We always have one or two wetleased A/C operating for us. In the past Southern Air, Air Atlanta, MK, and atleast 2 more...

Did they tell you what flying it will be doing? How long the contract is for?

Nothing from management here at World.

From October to mid 2011. What usually happens with a wet lease is to dedicate it to one route to save crew dead-heading. The last was to HKG with a stop en-route at least on the way back, sometimes both ways (Southern with a -200F was last used). The normal stop is ALA or GYD although Southern (or was it AAI?) used Karaganda. Not saying this will be the case this time though.

Enjoy - Karaganda in winter sounds like fun! (ALA or GYD are bearable).

Anyone know if CV have put LX-ZCV into service? Will it remain in an all white scheme aswel?

I guess this means business is slowly getting back to normal then

Yup, sure is...in fact, we are just about to sign a contract for the re-activation of a TriStar freighter.
The freight business is looking up, alright.

LX-ZCV is in service in all white scheme and very likely to remain that way.

seems to me this would be more likely because of their sale to UPS of 2 airplanes and only picking 1 up. And the delays of the 748F
