I have recently had been called for an ECG following an unsatisfactory routine ECG wih my AME.
I have been told that I require a coronary artery angiogram.
To proceed through my GP+conultant referal if going to take at least three weeks. Meanwhile I am 'grounded'.
I am wondering if anyone knows how to have thistest procedure done without delay.
I would also be interested to know if anyone has been through this experience and can offer any advice.

Before you accept the angiogram INSIST that you are tested for allergies to the subtances they use. A good friend of mine died within five minutes of being injected because they had NOT checked his allergies.
Secondly, who told him he had to have an angiogram, was it a British approved doctor?, most of the aviation specialist I know call it a last resort, with many 'possibles' in between an ECG and an Angiogram.(the ECG equipment could have been faulty).
Contact Dr. I.C. Perry, 19, Clivedon Place, London SW1, (adjacent to Sloane Square),
tel: 0171-730-8045.
Angiograms are to be AVOIDED!!!.

Good advice from addfor-but you don't have to be allergic for them to kill you-they can actually induce a heart attack in their own right-a small but nonetheless distinct one all the same.
Be careful, and best of luck.

Thanks guys for your well received advice - I'll bear in mind what you have said regarding angiograms.

In fact - my error - I have to have the procedure where one takes a radioactive pill and then the arteries are photographed.

I guess this will be safer.

Mant thanks.
