I have just bought a new computer with windows 7 and can no longer save Adobe pdf’s such as flight plans etc, my old XP machine was fine.

Someone mentioned that I may need an add on…?

Any idea’s greatly appreciated.

You have, I assume, downloaded and installed the latest Acrobat Reader?

(OR better still, I find that Foxit (here) Foxit Software - Foxit Reader for Windows (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/download.php)
is quicker and lighter on the resources it calls.

Hi, thank you, for your reply, I have the latest adobe reader but although it allows me to change a document it won't let me save the changes...

That's because Adobe Reader does just that: reads. If you want to save changes in a .pdf file then you'd have to buy Adobe Acrobat. (Read: $$$$$$)

Foxit allows you to make notes on your pdf file.

Foxit also does a PDF editor for a reasonable fee.

CutePDF allows you to "print" any windows program to a saved PDF file, so ideal if you're doing your flight planning in Word, Excel or similar. It's a free download

If by saving changes, you mean filling a form , it could ba a permission setting that needs to be changed by first opening Acrobat , change the security permissions and save again.

Its a little complex to explain.
