Hiya guys!
I ran into an issue with my pda and the hotsync function. Yes, I know that it is sort of old-school, but I still love it. Anyway, here's the problem:
I have not synced my pda for over a year (USB cradle), since it has a memory stick to back the data up to. I (finally) connected the pda to my computer and it says that COM1 is in use and will use COM1 when it becomes available. The program reverts to COM3 (or 5 sometimes) which hotsync doesn't like and no connection is being established. The (virtual) port COM1 had worked before on this computer.
I re-installed the program with hotsync a few times, but all to no avail.
How can I find out which program (or programme for our UK ppruners :) ) is using COM1? My lappy has no COM ports, just 2 USB ports. Under device manager I only see virtual Com 5, 7 and 10, all USB.
Any suggestions?
