I read last year that ICAO were considering relaxing the rules on uncorrected vision, to fall in line with the FAA's eminently sensible way of doing things - unlike the JAR way of doing things. The FAA rules basically state that if your corrected vision is 6/6 or better, it doesn't matter what your uncorrected vision is. JAA, however, is still sticking to its -5 dioptres maximum uncorrected.
Two questions:
1. Have ICAO now adopted the new standard?
2. Will the JAA be changing its rules to suit?
Would be most grateful for answers.
