Hi All,

I was onboard the BE7327 London Gatwick to Inverness at 19:20 on Monday evening. Our aircraft was sitting on the taxiway next in line to take off. I watched 3 aircraft in approach from my window seat. The 1st an Easyjet Airbus followed by an Emirates Airbus. Both landed ok. The 3rd in line looked as if it was about to do the same when it did a go around.

I was wondering what reason the pilots would have for that decision? The Emirates aircraft looked as if it had cleared the runway.

I am just asking out of curiosity, there is no implied criticism in the question.

Thanks in advance ,

Melchy

I saw the EK 777 follow the EK A340 down the approach and then go around-- i presume the A340 didnt vacate fast enough and his colleague had to go around!!
Not sure if right tho just my assumption!!
A340s are sometimes a bit slow!!

It happens quite a lot at an airport like LGW with a single runway and that amount of traffic. It's happened to me twice there - in a Dan Air 1-11 in the 80s and Atlas Blue 737 couple of years ago.
