B747 dumping fuel [Archive]

Does anyone know anything about a B747 flying low over Eastbourne yesterday. It was dumping fuel and heading for LGW I expect.

I saw it too.Looked like it was heading for Mayfield and very low.
Strange nobody else posted.

Twas a Cubana IL 96 and was still dumping fuel up to about 5-6 miles from touchdown .................:eek:

Just wondering if anyone had any information on what had happened to the flight. Don't get all the info now I'm not flying from LGW any more!

I missed seeing it arrive back, but returned to LGW with severe control problems apparently-landed safely.
