Seemed to be a full emergency yesterday at STN TWICE on the SAME aircraft......has this ever been heard of......the poor flight deck must a been glad they got out of bed that morning ...not. im assuming some one also has to pick up the tab ??

TWO full emergencies for the same aircraft? What happened - controller push the button twice??!

once at around 0830, departed around 1500.....on its way back in 15 mins later....reckon the engineers pressed the wrong buttons

Donks ago, I remember at Manch a DanAir 748 departed for NEW....10 mins later "Mayday,engine fire warning" A/c landed 10 mins later. After checks [1.5 hours] A/c again departs for NEW....10 mins later....."Mayday engine fire warning". On landing, the pax were bussed to NEW, and the Crew retired to the bar...:ok:

sounds like another today...same airline, same aircraft type??? dont know if it was same reg though....that WOULD be a shocker

Manchester many, many years ago:- Approach controller on the intercom says,"That's your full emergency at 8 miles." Reply from tower, "No, he's just over the threshold." Immediate response, "This is another one!"
Both landed safely and trainee tower controller (me) and mentor decided it was a good time to have a coffee break.
