His eyes were always down on the instrument panel, except when the machine had finished its hop and was still again, when he would look up. Good technique....

Did something fall off the rotar head at about 1.30 and 2.10 seconds?

I don't think this is allowed in the UK...

For a home built it looked like a well designed piece of equipment. Cross tubes look sturdy. Not sure why the exhaust runs forward ( to keep the pilot warm maybe ). Lots of lightening holes in evidence. Anyone recognize the engine ?.
and to ANFI , not much is allowed in the UK :)

I couldn't see any pedals or other form of tail rotor control?

Marvelous that people try these things.

It always surprises me that people who can't yet fly are brave enough to learn whilst being test pilot ....

... still it's a free country !! (over there)

(the hat prevents the pilot recieving the attitude feedback which pilots rarely realise they loose with that type of hat .... especially whilst looking down)

Those hats can also help you to fly an R44 into a hangar door!

The assembly certain appears stout - the rotor head looks beefy and I notice the tailboom hardly so much as waggles while he brings up the RPM. That's impressive.

Of course, I spent the majority of the time watching the footage and waiting for the disastrous rollover. "He's intending to arrest that drift, right?"
