I'm new to the forums and hope this is the right place for this request.

Can anyone help me with this information request please?

I'm trying to find the first and last dates of service for each of the Harrier variants that have flown with the RAF and RN within each squadron that they have served with. I'm looking to complete a table in this format ...

Harrier Type; Squadron; Date of Entry; Date of Exit

e.g.
FRS1 - 800NAS - Mar80 - Mar85

Most of my web searches have resulted in me finding entry dates, but exit dates are very hard to find. Any direct information or pointers to good sources of data for this information would be much appreciated. Thanks

If you have material that you could email, please PM me for my email address

You could drop an email to: editor at harrier.org.uk
and ask him what's happened to the very comprehensive list of all RAF Harriers produced that was on his site. It was under the title of "Harrier Production - UK" and listed Serial/Type/Build No/ First Flt/Delivery/Operator,Location or Fate. I tried to find it and got error 404.

Demobbed - Out of Service British Military Aircraft (http://www.demobbed.org.uk/) provides some Harrier info

HARRIER LIST U.K (http://www.harrierlist.co.uk/) the site is out of use

UK Serials (http://www.ukserials.com/) Not all the info you require but some of it

Good luck

I didn't think we could mention other sites here, but anyway the place you mention is very good, largely for reference so no rival to Pprune.

It was all working last time I looked, ( will try in a min' ) but there is the fact that the editor, STOVL specialist researcher Doctor Michael Pryce, is a busy guy since he built that site, so cannot make changes or maintenance; bit of a shame as my tiny bit has a few errors, mostly but not all mine !

If desperate to mail him I could find his contact if you PM me.

Good Luck,

DZ

Thank you for the suggestions. I have already looked at these and don't quite meet my need as they tend to cover the final status/resting place of individual aircraft - and my experience of some research has shown some Harriers have had more postings at the end of their flying days than they had before!
