Has anybody had any experience of flying under IFR in Southern Ireland? I am planning a trip from the North West of England down to Cork. Just wanted any advice on any 'problem' areas if there are any. Thanks http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/smilies/smile.gif

I used to fly into Cork quite often at my old job. The ATC services are really good. Enjoy the trip. I really miss being over there.

IFR in the South of Ireland is good. ATC very friendly and very helpful. (I've found all ATC good but Ireland is maybe under less pressure!)

Just one thing that I have noticed flying to Galway and Waterford is that you might have to request descent or you could end up a bit high. I ended up having to go missed at Galway and ended up with a greater rate of decent at Waterford than I would have liked. Since then I've always asked for decent (which has been given straight away) to make it easier for me :E
