Hey all.
I'm curious, Which airline would you say is better to work for between Aero &
Arik. I mean in terms of job satisfaction, staff welfare & conditions etc?

Yea, I heard aero pays more but I would like to fly more since I'm young and would like those hours sooner rather than later. Ive got both the NG and the Classic Differences but obviously would like to fly the NG. A friend of mine was complaining about Arik soo thats kinda put me off them. I heard Aero are looking for pilots @ the mo soo im hoping to apply to both and see what happens. Thanks for the replies

It is funny VN never comes up in this discussions. Are they truly on the DOWN?

Aero has history and it seems thats what people are focussing on, as a young f/o I would highly recommend Arik, go get your NG experience and make some money even though it may be less than Aero which I believe it is. Never pass up the chance to fly a modern machine when you are starting out. Good luck :ok:

Thanks NIJASEA. I partial to Arik and your logic makes the most sense. Now to go get my conversion and dive into the job market. Any Idea if aero/arik provide accommodation for pilots who don't live in Lagos?

Come to think of it menatti, take the one that comes first, Start flying, get to know all the little intricacies of each company and then see what suits you at that stage. Things change very quickly in this bussiness, you might find that having turned down one offer, the one you were hoping for doesnt quite materialise and then the first offer's gone. You have the ratings for both so moving shldnt be that difficult.

From what i hear about the aviation sector, Orange Lady anytime baby:

bread first;
benefits second;
working in a company that recognises a worker's union third;
working like a donkey last!

Working for a Jekyll & Hyde company should not be your ideal introduction into the airline industry. Like 'Gay' Pilot said, you've got the ratings, so think of other things than the metal you drive.

Lest i forget, the orange lady is also seeking new boyfriends!

Enough said!

Whats the News about Aero's account with Oceanic Bank.....News circulating claim the accounts have been frozen and Aero told to refund millions of $$$...

Naf Base and Agip Base all quiet as none of the choppers are flying, gather they are all grounded :sad:

Anybody from Aero with info...Naijaninja you there, this is not good news...

Sir Balewa,

I wonder why you think i might know better, a PM to that effect will be greatly welcomed.

It beats me to read what you might have also read. Other than that, i've no news for you sir from my Naija sources.

Although, i can easily say watch the headlines, its a cat & mouse game involving Aero, CHC, CBN & Oceanic! Orchestrator is a certain Madam!

Its a lot more serious than a cat and mouse game,and AERO is seconds away from @##)*&^%$^&.if care is not taken.That will not be good for the labour market at all!!!!

I would suggest the union rally round and involve themselves in this mess,because so many vested interests are scheming to perpetuate their own agenda.Madam has her plan,CHC and Oceanic too,but AERO................

We picked up a bunch of stranded Aero passengers in Benin this morning, when their morning flight didn't show.

I heard that pilots haven't been paid for two months, and some / all expats were given a one-way ticket home, and told to take it or leave it. No verification of this, however.

Things do not look well for Aero.

For Nigerian Eagle.... In "Punch", it was reported today that a new MD was named for Aero; a guy from Kenya or Ethiopia, don't recall.

18Left, if AERO is seconds away from @##)*&^%$^&, then the Oil & Gas sector is about to derail its revenue generation for the politicians, so don't be dramatic about doom & gloom for Aero. 51 years of rough, calm, straight & level isn't an easy feat!

Let's not be dramatic here, a cat & mouse game can be 'very serious' or 'less serious'. The game is aimed at sending certain hidden messages and trust me, its all politics! There's a lot of capital flight issues and that's what the disputed money is all about!

From what i hear from some boyfriends of the orange lady, April salary has been paid to the locals, expats are part of the whole game and they are not going anywhere for now.

My sources also said the Benin flight didn't show up due to an aircraft that's U/S, nothing to do with the ongoing game. They operated the later Benin flights.

TonyWilliams, was it the punch or yourself that named a new MD for Aero?

New MD for Nigerian Eagle... not Aero. Yes, it was in Punch today.
