Brilliant news. Will you be allowing fly-in aircraft visitors (sadly of the non warbird variety)?

Hi Skua,

You will have to contact the organisers, I'm not involved the event, my post was just to let everyone know that the display was taking place, as events at the aerodrome rarely make the aviation press.

It appears from the BBMF website that the Lanc, Spitfire and Hurricane will display at Kenley. What is intriguing though is that it appears the Spit and Hurri will be landing at Kenley.

Can anyone remember the last time a Spitfire or Hurricane operated from Kenley.

The Breightling wingwalkers will also be in attendance.

Hi Merlin XX,

The details I posted are from the display acts own websites, I am not at all involved with the display organising team. It seems odd that they haven't updated the website.

Great news MerlinXX,

I was fortunate enough to see the Chipmunk today, all by accident as I saw the Chipmunk on approach when I popped home for lunch.:ok: So I quickly grabbed my camera and dashed up to the Aerodrome to snap these images, there was a lot of heat haze today so there not too great.:(

Won't be able to attend due work............Am so envious of those of you who will be able to see the H and S landing/taking off - how evocative will that be? Desperately hoping that some kind soul will be able to share their images/video footage. Hope the weather is kind for all concerned - enjoy :ok:

Anyone who attended care to share their experiences? Weather was not too good I believe.............Did the Hurri/Spit duo appear?

Sadly, the BBMF was "grounded" on that day. Weather was pretty grim with heavy thunderstorms forecast. However, some intrepid aviators dodged the houses and rain to form a good static display.

I drove in. There appeared to be a single entry/exit point on the W side of the field. It was chaos. Whilst we were in that wretched queue a Tutor did an excellent and low level display (from what I could see of it). A brisk walk around the stands whilst was clement. BBMF remained at Biggin - understandbly so. Hats off to the owners of the biplanes that managed to get in. I hope the free wash did not do too much damage.

Then a mother of all CBs appeared at 1600 and encouraged us and 95% of the rest of the crowd to queue for the single entry/exit point again.

memo to organisers for 2011: why not create another gate at the southern end of the disused r/w?

Totally unrelated - are the BBMF Chipmunks equipped with electric starters now or are they still cartridge start ??
