Hello all. Can one of our suitably qualified medical members, please tell me/us, why a mental medical is NOT required for the issuence of the professional pilot medical?
Why is the medical limited(class) for a problem with the say the pancrease, but not if a mental problem exists?

Oz & UK both have a (smallish) section to do with mental health for the medical.

It's only a few questions & relies on the Dr. assessing the person's mental health from his/her observations & questions.

past history of phycosis= no medical, a dedatchment from reality is not compatable.
neurosis is aceptable with proven sucessfull treatment, but still hardly a reccomendation for employment!

And yet in the short time that I've been in aviation, I have NEVER met so many whacko people! They should be in crop-dusters, not working with other crew members !
