RYR recruiting...?

Hi guys quick question...are RYR currently ACTUALLY recruiting? it seems they never stop....as on their website its an ongoing process...

Another question for those who also went to Oxford, is it true that Oxford cadets get invited automatically for an Assessment with RYR?

Yes they are recruiting, no oxford cadets don't automatically get invited, they have to be assesed like everyone else. Thousands apply, only a few get picked and the criteria before you even get a phone call for an interview are stringent. Still, you miss every opportunity you don't at least attempt.

thanks for the reply, i suppose the mentality that most have that RYR dont care about your groundschool results/1st series passes (or not as the case may be) so long as you bring the £££ for a type rating is pretty much just speculation then seen as only a handful make it through..?

Do you or anyone happen to know how long one actually has to wait before actually hearing back from RYR if they were successful resulting in an invite to an assessment?

I do not think many airlines care about your ground school grades or passes, of course as long as you have passed. At least from the info found on these forums, ground school percentage have very little to say with regards to getting a job with any airline, RYR inclusive.

Ground school is about how well you can get through the question bank, your tech interview will test if you know the theory or not. there's no choose from: ABCD, so you can't even guess. RYR doesn't take "anyone who can afford it" they take those who meet the grade out of the thousands of applicant, and from them they take only those with the skill to make the cut at selection. being able to pay for the TR is part of the selection criteria, without it you can't join them, but its not THE selection criteria. If you don't perform up to standard on the assesment, wether or not you can pay the TR it won't make a difference because you won't get in.

You don't buy a job with Ryanair :=, it is tough to get in, you do however pay for your type rating, and pay over the odds IMO but you still have to earn the right to join and this is based on the interview and sim ride. :ok:

I think many people misunderstand the ground school, because rightly so many just learn the question bank, if you ask them a question a little more in depth, they have not got a clue!
The ones really interested, might get a lesser exam score, but they know the subject in and out in much more detail.
That's why probably all airlines prefer to make their own judgement, and probably don't take much notice of your exam scores.

you will only get selected for type training if u have put the hard work in preparing for the interview.

ATPL ground school was all about passing the 14 exams. All training organizations teach you what to know in order top pass the exams. You get a lot of highlight this, skip that page, cross that page out etc etc........

You will find yourself with at cpl/ir/mep and not really understand the basics of MACcrit etc.......

So use the time waiting around for the call to actually go through the books and actually understand what goes on in a jet engine, why do aircraft have swept wings etc etc.....because thats what they will be asking you to explain in the interview

In regards to paying for the type training, yes its a steep price but from what I hear the training you receive is excellent and at the end, so long as you pass, there is a pretty decent job at the end to start paying back what you owe

Well I think the issue with RYR, is that even if you pay for your TR, it does not come with a secure job offer.

Anyone have any percentage of how many who gets dumped after completed TR? for RYR.
