View Full Version : Airlines and colour vision tests

I know this seems to be the most popular topic on this board, but clarification on the below would be much appreciated:

Have just had initial Class 1 Med. Scuffed three of the colour plates but passed the lantern test in the dark. Was told I was Colour Perception 3 rather than CP2. When I received my certificate, there is no mention of me being CP3 - it shows as an unrestricted Class 1 (Do the CAA recognise degrees of colour safe?) My question is this - will me being CP3 go against me dramatically in the eventual search for work? I have read that some airlines carry out fairly stringent eye tests themselves.

I apologise for revisiting this subject, but final clarification would be appreciated.

My understanding is, is a pass is a pass!

Good luck.

Captain Numpty,

Thanks for taking the time to post a reply - I managed to get to someone at the CAA today who passed on the very same news. Which is good news!

Thanks again for posting.
