Has anyone the "lowdown" on the rumour about medical restrictions being put on some Irish licences - as in issued by the IAA. Actually I am "assured" it is a bit more than a "rumour" but.....

What I am hearing is that anyone who needs a validation of their Irish licence to work can have problems for some reason even if there is no actual medical issue. Anyone know the actual story?

See the Irish Airline Pilots Association website,(IALPA - Irish Airline Pilots' Association (http://www.ialpa.net)) it has some information on it which may answer your query. Look at the Media section

Gents,

Take a look at the link im posting. I am due to take an IAA medical in the coming weeks, however I have a slight issue on the eyesight front, one eye being a bit stronger than the other. (Sorry I can't specify, I can't find my recent D&A eye examination form thingy).

This link may answer (or may not) some of the IAA eyesight issues.

Have a look anyway . . . . .
