What happened to the "Around the world in a Sabreliner" guys?

I haven't heard anything about this recently. Looked like an interesting trip, especially the part where they would fly around the world in a business jet just to do it, but at the same time be "carbon neutral".

I believe they cut about ten hours off the previous record but have to wait for confirmation from whatever body deals with these things before it becomes official.

Riccardo Mortara (62) co-captain Gabriel Mortara (28) and co-pilot Flavien Guderzo (26) set the record for the fastest flight around the world in a 9,000 to 12,000 kg aircraft. They had to add a 12th leg to their trip after plans to land in Keflavik, Iceland, were aborted due to a volcanic eruption. But JetEx did not allow even this enforced dramatic switch of itinerary to have any impact on service. Zorman says: "It was the most impressive demonstration of the JetEx capability to support any aircraft, any request, any time and at any corner of the globe we flew in some 58 hours."

Well done that crew. :D:D

Not a bad job of it considereing they were flying a 30 year old jet.

The Sabre 65 is a good aircraft, sadly just dated. I flew one for five years and rather liked it.
