Just out of interest, can anyone please clarify the purpose of the faired housing under some RAF Britannias ? It was located on the centreline, just behind wing leading edge, about 6ft long by 2ft deep, with the anti-collision beacon at rear end of it. Appears only on mil and ex-mil a/c - not noted on those built for airlines. Thanks.
