View Full Version : Indigo hiring via CAE

niksmathew24

Hey guys just came across the interesting news that indigo is hiring F/O's again.
But its through CAE. Is it worth getting it done from CAE who charges around 30,000$ for a 320 rating? And what are the chances of getting a job on successful completion?

Please shed all your wise thoughts :ok:

no way.

the indian immigration don't want foreign expats FOs!

niksmathew24
23rd Mar 2010, 12:11
Well of course foreign FO's are not welcome here. But my question is will Indigo hire you or not? ie; Do you get an offer letter before you start your TR.
Or will you be out on PPRUNE crying:{ that CAE and Indigo looted you..

avalanche007
23rd Mar 2010, 12:27
Well, before the TR, Indigo will give you some letter of intent of employment but as CAE says they won't guarantee you the job before TR.

That's the catch

Now who might have done this can give us a good idea of the scene

Personal advice would avoid CAe. If my experience is anything to go by, you pays your money, does your assessment, pass, get told they'll contact in the next few days, then nothing. Never heard from them again. Granted I got another job a couple of months after so stopped chasing, but they're not square dealers.

you can not be hired, you need a work permit!.
The indian immigration have already canceled work permits of first officer 2 years ago and they have been asked to go home, it 's not going to change view the number of qualified Indian pilots looking for job.

Even if you receive a letter of offer or a job promess , it's not a contract and worths nothing.

What did they reply to you?
Could you please provide more details.

Capt_Lsd

they will just request you for basic info and your CV so that they could let you know about the selection procedure ,,that's all,,,when did you apply?

flyhelico
25th Mar 2010, 03:51
maybe it' s a scam from nigeria.

did you reply to a hotmail address or yahoo?

their email has been blocked for spaming.

rkc_9009
25th Mar 2010, 05:53
its not scam for sure...indigo employment page itself has the link to get registered...but i wonder when Indigo is having pilots type rated and who are yet to get into line apart from a few cadets who are yet to go for type rating(pls let me know if am wrong abt this or if this is something very old)...why would they advertise for more..

Capt_Lsd
25th Mar 2010, 06:44
well i replied to a CAE address form which i received the email from .

and i don't think its a scam or anything ,,but it definitely is a good business idea for cae and indigo to link up together,,and they do mention that there's no guarantee that we would get the job even after the type rating,,,so CAE would make their share anyways,

Guess so! I suppose IndiGo requires far more than 2 Trainee FOs for their upcoming deliveries.

that being said I hope the rest of the so-called "vacancies" haven't been already filled out by Kids with ultra-rich dads who'd trade the world to go and get to a RHS of a shiny new jet! (Read - Back-Door-Entrants).

rkc_9009
12th Apr 2010, 11:10

13th Apr 2010, 11:21
sum1 can easily file a case against them if they are recruiting without proper interviews

yeah, easily file a case, easily lose lakhs of rupees to a money-sucker lawyer, and easily forget about the case within a few days.
(Your case's file will be put below a million other files and the next hearing of the case in court would probably be when our great grand children are having their convocation ceremony for their Masters degree.)

JustinH
14th Apr 2010, 14:02
Its a long term program, just like other programs being conducted by CAE for different airlines. There is no such last date for applications, the applications are selected randomly and selected applicants are invited for the selection procedure. The CAE will not recruit 30-40 people in one go, it will be a gradual long term selection process, so u might see only 4-6 people in one batch and thn same nos in the nxt batch after few weeks or months. Its all about demand from the airlines. Good luck all!!!

Pretty apt! And I do assume thats what is happening!
The Last time CAE conducted such an "Intake" for IndiGo (back in mid-2008), the guys who made it through had to wait for a good 8-10 months before initiating their Type.
