Can anyone substantiate or deny the rumour that a member of BA flight deck has been grounded due to malnutrition caused by trying to survive on crew meals?

They are there to feed you, not fatten you!

There is a very fine line between big enough to satisfy without being too big to poison.

If they made them any bigger you would only delay the flight as you would still be eating when the ramp-tramp wants to board the aircraft

This may be a ressurection of the BA urban myth that the pilots' cheeseboard was introduced in the 1970's to stop the few Hamble cadets who were subsisting entirely on crew meals from suffering malnutrition. I have also heard of an alleged case of scurvy with the same "facts" attached, dating allegedly to the 1970's.

Deep in the dim and distant there may be a kernel of truth lurking in there, but my money is on "no."

Lets face it,

most flight deck feel its their right to whinge about the crew food.
EG// "To small", "a choice of 10 sandwiches between a crew of 5 is not enough","Rump Steak with pine curnel piquante and a selection of braised vegetables, what happened to bangers and mash" are just a few lame whinges given by crew.

Lets face it, if you don't moan about the food its the "poor money". Probably why the BA f/o is malnurished as he didn,t know what food store to start spending his £4000 p/mth in. Bless.
