Just for interest last night in BLR I saw an old An12 freighter RA12988 with KOCMOC painted on the fuselage infront of the wing leading edge.

I couldn't wait to watch the manual loading of all the wooden crates that were massed round the tail but would loved to have spent a happy 6hrs.

I look back at the farnborough Airshow of the sixties and how this was the aircraft to see, very old technology now though but good to see although no CCCP on the side...

TW dreaming

They are almost daily sights over the UK - mainly operating cargo into East Midlands I believe. Fabulous machines, but not quite up to AN-22 standard!!

A comment I made recently about Antonov's at Farnborough

Thinking back I guess it was an AN-12

:ok:

You won't have seen an AN12 at Farnborough in the 1960's as it was British aircraft only for the 60's. I think it was mid or late 70's before the Russians made their first appearance at the show.

I would love to blag a trip on and AN12 though.
