Placing question here as it is our forum but hope that flight crew and answer, or fellow SLF that have relevant experience!
On a number of flights, I find that the speaker volumes are too low for me to hear clearly. This is particularly so for flight deck announcements. Obviously not all that crucial as we learn about weather at dest.
In an emergency, is the volume boosted?
One possible reason is that flight crew get used to talking quietly into their microphones to ATC and others who may have noise cancelling and so forth, so they forget to 'speak up' when talking to us.
As anyone heard genuine emergency announcements? Are they louder or do they get drown out by the sound of prayer!
