The US FAA requirements are usually followed worldwide. The imminent 1500hr requirement for hiring standards maybe a reality as aviation insurance firms dictate the terms underwritten for hiring criteria at the airlines.
Any information from finance and aviation education experts on the subject would be appreciated.

I disagree with your assertion. A short look at JAA/EASA requirements will show you how much they differ. AFAIK most non-US national Authorities who make their own regulations don't follow the FAA model. There are, of course, nations that accept FAA certificates - but that is a different ball game.

But - what are you talking about? Insurance is an operator's concern, and how much they pay is, in part, related to crew experience, but also to lots of other considerations.

If you are trying to imply that the FAA will require airlines to hire only pilots with 1500+ hours, that seems pretty unlikely. Do you have a reference?
