Whilst travelling on the train up to Bristol I have noticed what looks to be an airfield / farm strip, located about half way between Salisbury and Warminster.
Situated on a hill about 1/2 mile south of the railway line / A36, in the vicinity of the junction of the A303. Couple of aircraft visible, C172 type + a twin...Aztec or similar?

Anyone know the name of the place, or was the railway coffee affecting my brain??

Cheers, Posso

Thanks for the lead, thought perhaps my eyes were deceiving me. Looks to be the home of Colson Aero Services.

I had a low fly-by via Google Earth cannot seem to see the strip, well camouflaged to stop the Luftwaffe finding the place no doubt!

Many thanks, Posso.

Hi Posso
It is Stockton strip, the aircraft you can see is a Barron currently for sale see Aircraft maintenance | Airplane repair and restoration company – Colaero (http://www.colaero.com/) .Colson also specialise in Fuji aircraft
The runway is inclined (take off downhill regardless ) I did find it on Google Earth but i am not clever enough to provide a link.Ps I found it easier to find from the air !

Thanks for that

Its a little disconcerting taking off downhill with a tailwind when you are not quite airbourne between the Hangar and the barns
