It is sad news that Steve Luther passed away on the 10th February 2010, aged 57, peacefully in his sleep at home. Steve had a colourful career as a Station Manager / Loadmaster for various cargo airlines including Southern Air, Atlas Air and Evergreen.

Steve should be remembered as a kind and giving man.

Steve was cremated this afternoon, with a good turnout of family, friends and ex-work colleagues.

He will be missed by all

(moderators, didnt know if this belonged here or in the 'where are they now' forum. As Steve's career was in the cargo field, thought it should go here)

Steve once held a flashlight (torch) for me in the rain, on top of the wing of a Herc at night with opposite engines running while I opened and closed the horse collar. He did not like it much, but he did it anyway. I liked Steve, one of the good ones!!!
He will be missed!!!

Although this is rather late..........sorry to hear that Steve has left us.

I only had one opportunity to meet with Steve..............Luanda. We had to evac to Namibia during one of the skirmishes. Poor guy had come down with Malaria.

He was a trooper though. Helped load what he could grab before we left.
