I've heard a rumour that Virgin are pulling out of Gatwick. Travelled with them Upper Class and found the following:

* Drive Thru Checkin closed at gatwick, open at Heathrow
* No therapist on any Gatwick route, all available from Heathrow
*Clubhouse closes in two weeks time at Gatwick
* No arrivals facilities at Gatwick

What's happening?

Hi,

With the decline in air traffic, Virgin has moved its Newark and Boston flights from Gatwick to Heathrow and with less " business routes" ( the remaining routes being the Caribbean (sp?), Orlando, Miami and 2x weekly to Las Vegas) which I belived are more "tourist" routes they have decided to shut the lounge ( although I thought it was to be from 20/12 according to the flyertalk forum) and reduce the business amenities.
I am travelling VS LHR-BOS on 29/12 to spend new year and find LHR easier to get to than LGW from up here in Scotland ( less transit time)

So why fly on a premium seat from LGW - I'm afraid to say it that BA will have one over Virgin this time.

Yes, I flew LGW-BGI
