Very sad to hear. I hope she recovers swiftly.

Does anyone know the a/c type?

Our airline uses a two person approach to closing a/c doors. While the CCM are still the ones to close the door, ground staff are on the steps at the same time, that way they hope to avoid the steps being take away with either the door left open, or worse a CCM half on the steps half on the plane senario.

Ground staff and CC will never learn to insist and ensure that steps / jettys are never removed until the door is safely shut. Sadly this happens every year?

The same thing happened in 2005 in France http://www.pprune.org/cabin-crew/164046-death-cabin-attendant-ory.html
The accident happened because the person removing the stairs didn't respect the procedure that a door must be closed before the stairs are removed. After the accident the procedure has been modified to make sure this happens.

A little bit of sensantionalist media report again but I can confirm it was a QantasLink Boeing 717-200 Aircraft ( operated by Cobham/NJS). The number #1 f/a fell from the door breaking one arm and severely spraining the other. She will be fine. Lucky Girl. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
