I appear to have offered to write a frequently asked questions (FAQ) list for this forum (I'm not quite clear whether I have or not, but let's assume I have :)).

Suggestions for what might usefully be included would be most welcome. Also, I'd like to have a list of web sites that people actually use and find helpful in their lives as self loading freight. What do people use for flight booking, flight information, travel planning and advice, and so on?

Ta in advance.

SLF-

The following 2 sites might be of interest:

www3.sympatico.ca/donna.mcsherry/airpor-ts.htm

This hilarious site is on sleeping in airports! Yes, honestly. However it contains lots of useful info about features, likely sources of harrassment, nearby hotels, transport, lounges, layover facilities, etc.
www.thorntree.lonely (http://www.thorntree.lonely) planet.com/thorn

A site mostly used by backpackers but also others. Worldwide coverage and special threads for men, women, disabled, travel w kids, etc Good search facility for uncovering lots of info on airlines, airport facilities, hotels, scams, etc etc.

www.travelocity.com (http://www.travelocity.com) is the one I use. You need a password, for which you have to give some information, but they don't subsequently bug you with junkmail.

However, when you mention it in your FAQ, add a caveat that you should use travelocity to find your flight, but never to book it; you can always get a better deal elsewhere.

If you add the URL's of all the airlines which allow online booking, this would be a great help, but would be a lot of work for you.

If you could add to this the list of those that take you 90% of the way through the booking process and then crash with a java error  , this would be superlatively useful. In my experience, this includes all of them except one - virgin express's. A shame that their flights are not to the same standard as their website.

Self loading..
I'd like to know how to deal with the passive aggressive behaviour of some of the FAs towards passengers. Australian FAs are the worst. There should be some opportunity for passengers to complain.
No wonder there is so much air rage.

Simitra -- thanks for those. The URLs were a bit battered by the editing process, though, so here they are in clickable form

Justapax -- perhaps you've got a problem with your Java? Which browser are you using?

Skylark -- wish I knew the answer to that one...

Skylark -

I have read the posts under 'cabin crew' where CAs complain of the increasingly aggressive behavious of pax towards them. However, I agree that there is another side to the coin. There is a site on the web called 'the grumpy traveller' or some such (a search should reveal it) which makes the point that pax are increasingly being penalised for making even mild complaints about unacceptable treatment, and being threatened by FAs with removal from the craft. As this important topic is clearly close to your heart perhaps you would like to start another thread on this.
