Hi everyone! For all interested in the Atlas Blue I wish to give some advice..
they will be starting recruiting soon, usual contract with rishworth, and that's about the only good part. The fleet will stay operative until late 2011, but nothing official is told by the company, that anyway is 100% in the RAM hands. Be ready to find a tipical moroccan situation (maybe you can check out some of the RAME complains!). Here's the same:

-Schedule changes on about 70% of the roster. :ugh:
-No uniforms, of course, and that includes EVERYTHING!
-Only 4 days off consecutive, and the rest spread randomly throughout the month, -No standby days, but a curious "Gentleman agreement" :hmm: from the past, of which all is left is that you basically HAVE to anwer to sometimes absurde calls in the middle on the night during your "blanc" days (meaning that no flight is scheduled on that day).
-Marrakech base is only theoretical. Airbus for now is flying off Oujda :yuk:, a tiny center in the north, shuttleing between Oujda Orly and Agadir. There's another rotation from Paris Orly :ok:, and some rotations out of Fez. So Marrakech is only sporadic in the roster.
-The management's plan is sometimes obscure. The pilots here are leaving cause they saw an meaningless change in the conditions. Without any operational reason they cut on the days off, put people on forced paid leave, made operational choices that seems only aimed to make them upset. So basically Atlas Blue hires pilots cause a lot left/are leaving. :{

The pros are that they kept the salary, which is good especially for F/Os
(4.400 € + 1000€ for housing) and the number of hours flown during the year. You can expect about 850 in 12 mths, avg 70 / Mth. (in winter too, which is pretty good)

Being the worldwide situation what it is now Atlas Blue is worth a try if you are low on options, and in any case take it as a temporary job.

SsmokK,

Thanks for posting some info in regards to Atlas Blue, right now I am looking for any job which lets me stay current and accumulate hours, so those conditions I can get used to in order to survive this situation (low on options as you said) some of us are experiencing.

I have submitted my application and I am standing by for a confirmation "within the next few weeks" so I guess this won't be moving fast soon.

A couple of questions
How many buses are they operating there and how many are they expecting?
In regards to the interview how was it for you and what would you recommend?
Flights to Africa, how are conditions on layovers if there are any

Thanks !

busbox,

I understand perfectly, I am in the same boat, except that I have this job now.. but as the others I'm trying to go away.
The selection was a technical quiz (fairly easy, if I remember correctly it was open book, but that was 2 years ago.. i don' tknow if things have changed so far), and a sim session with a flap/slat locked emergency, and a few mem items. This year training program includes a G+Y Hyd fault.. you might wanna review that as well. Bru or Tou, still an 320 sim.
There's 4 airbusses currently flying, and it seems that they'll keep all 4 of them. But, and if you come you'll learn fast, in Morocco everything is true, as well as its exact opposite.. So they won't let us know any official decision until it will be official (even later, if they can).
Flights are mostly without nightstop, except the Paris ones, in wintertime. But there's a whole lot of rotations in Morocco, as I said, Oujda, Fes and Agadir for the 321. They used to give us an allowance depending on the city we were, but this thing changed one month ago, and we are supposed to be entitled to a per diem instead. How much noone knows yet, and if they actually will pay it is another shadow in the fog. So far the only sure thing is that there's B&B hotels and transportation. Also in Marrakech they are still providing with hotel accomodation, or instead a housing allowance, and a pick up to and from the airport.

Hi guys.-...any chance to get a contract to fly the B737 in Atals Blue?

blusky 75, no there's no chance any more. After this summer they signed an agreement with the moroccan pilot union for the marocanization of the crews, and now they only take Cpts and FOs from RAM. 737 is and will be locked for the future, unless a very big mess happens like the mess happened on the AB. :ugh::ugh::ugh:
