I have an awful routing on Gulf next Saturday(Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne). What's their policy on mini-disc players?
Anyone have any idea how long the Singapore & Sydney stops are? What aircraft do they use on these legs?

aaaarrrgggghhh....

CC!
I have often used my Discman on board GF flights. GF's inflight announcements say that laptops, CD players and other portable should be switched off during take off and landing. See I do listen to the safety demo.
As to the haul to Melbourne, well GF use Airbus 340 on their Far East Flights. You usually get a smooth flight, but the seats are uncomfortable both in Economy and Business Classes. In fact I think GF's A340 Business Class seats are the worst in the world and I never get a good snooze. The food is awful and there are times you have to ask for a drink even when you are booted up to 1st Class.Maybe it's up to the Captain if he's expat or not.
By the way, even though it's Ramadan, GF DO serve drinks during the flight.
You get 45mins - 1 hr in Singapore and I'm not sure of the duration of the stopover in Sydney.
My advice during a GF Flight is to do what I do. Try to Sleep.

Enjoy the double milage points whilst they are still on offer CC.
