Currently in 2nd year of Aerospace Technology at Sheffield Hallam Uni and currently searching around for placements for next year (starting around September/October) but there is not a lot coming through. I'd prefer an aviation-related placement obviously, and as our course is mainly placed around engineering that would be best but anything aviation related would be an advantage to me.
Long term ambition is to get PPL and CPL done, but short term I certainly need to find something for next year. Obviously with the way things are at the moment, many companies will not be able to take placement students when they are laying off their own permanent staff and I understand that. Certainly I don't know of anyone on my course that has been fixed up with a placement yet.
I would really love to get myself into the industry even if it is working in nothing related to engineering, such as operations (which is something that really interests me!), any ideas anyone?
