Any advice for a 40yr old pilot with all the ratings except CFI and approx. 500hrs (mostly single engine). I'm trying to build time and unless I have a job with someone it is almost impossible to accumulate multi-engine time. Have I started (in this industry) too late in life? I'm trying to remain optimistic. I would appreciate any advice or comments from pilots who have experience in this.

Thanks

What are your goals? What do you want to do (Corporate, Airlines, Fractionals)?

You need to start making contacts, then doors often open. It's harder at your age but not impossible. Depends how flexible you are prepared to be and also whether you have any other commitments in your life. More flexible and less commitments will make your search easier!

Good luck!
