I met their CP at a party in JED in December. Really nice guy with great stories of ferrying MIGs from China when he was a Pakistani AF pilot.

I don't have any details about pay, etc.

I'd also like to hear about some specifics at Arabsco. Quite a bit of negative comments out there, anybody actually have any experience dealing with them or is all the past information second and third hand.
If anyone has any realtime info they'd like to share, good or bad, please do.
Thanks:}

I have been offered a SIC position with ARABASCO in Jeddah, what is the scoop on this outfit? Even if they are not the greatest I would still like to get in on the scene over there, maybe it leads to something better, any thoughts?

Warning!
Arabasco is looking for another 900XP PIC. Here is a list of what to expect:
1. Lies.
2. Deception.
3. No knowledge of Aviation or GACA Regulations.
4. No Payments for Accomodation.
5. Promises that never filled.
6. Shorting you on money owed, the longer you work there, the more they will owe you. and No Pay at the end.
7. SIC has not received training about 15months.
9. Before you sign up they say that they will send you for recurrent every 12 month,it is changed to 24 months.
10 The owner cannot afford the plane.
11 many items are broke on the aircraft N3217G not expect them to be fixed.
12 Money is owed to all vendors including fuel companies.
13 They will want you to pay for your recurrent and promise in a contract to pay you back. Do not count on getting the money back.
My friend just left there recently for not paying up for five month.
Bottom line is do not get involved with these people. Get references from other pilots and companies and you will confirm it.The Captain left within 30 days.

Cut the guys some slack @ Arabasco.

They have Owners who completely underfund the operation, who allow all their cohorts to use the company's services and not pay for them. Actually, that's not completely true, they pay a little bit - usually three years in arrears or so.

In a culture where this exists, what chances do those who Manage the operation have?

But again, staying away is the logical option. Unless of course hair loss is high on your agenda!

If it takes as long as it does to get fuel, catering...a smile :} then I wouldn't be surprised if the previous comments re working for them were true!!! Mind you...gotta love the minibus they take you to the hotel in!! And I thought KSA had all the money!!!

And I thought KSA had all the money!!!

They certainly still do. But their priorities are different. If they can rip others off and get away with it - they will. Have you, for example, ever seen Saudia's Ops building or their HQ?

No...is it mind blowing or should it belong in West Africa like many other things I have seen in Saudi?!:ooh:

Saudia's Ops building Have you seen it lately?

They have Owners who completely underfund the operation This is so prevalent that no management company can claim ignorance, so they should either go in their eyes open and big pockets, or forget the business.

The list of non-payers get longer by the month......

Spacestealth; your post sounds familiar.

I do see that you used some creativity and changed some of it.
Maybe they are the same people doing more of the same?

I have worked with Arabasco for many years now as anaircraft operator. I find them one of the best service providers in the MiddleEast, certainly the best in the KSA. I have also used them for maintenance andcharter and they do a good job. Maintenance really works with us to solve allof our issues.

Now I do have to say that Arabasco’s service is not up to EUor US standards. I do find that many pilots come over to the ME and expectservice that is beyond the FBOs capabilities due to the requirements of theairport, security and labor pool. Also keep in mind that ME FBOs do not havethe fuel contracts and that many of the services that are required by youraircraft are not in the direct control of the FBO. SO cut them some slack, theyare trying to make arrangements on your behalf.

I cannot speak to the treatment or pay for Arabasco’semployees but I know many of the ex-pats that have been there for years.

Friend of mine freelanced for them some time ago - he´s now waiting the 5th month for his payment ...
Heard equal stories from other colleagues. Their attitude seems to be as bad as other "popular" operators in the middle east :ugh:

@spacestealth are we maybe talking about the same guy, Fahad ?
