Best NY Airport????

Am flying into New York in a few weeks - what is the best airport to use as I have the option.

Does JFK have the best transport connections to the Central Park area??

Any help would be gooood.

Swings and roundabouts, but I think EWR might just have the edge. Get on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound, follow the signs to Lincoln Tunnel and you are as god as at Central Park ;)

I prefer Newark. Yes, a little bit further out, but it is so much nicer to travel through. You will be out of the airport much quicker and on your way into Manhattan before you know it.

Best? You mean 'Least-worst'

JFK - cheapest to Manhatten (sp) ($1.50 on the subway, including free bus tx to station), but loooong

Newark - quicker immigration than JFK (in my exp), quite quick to NY outside rush hour

LGA - closest, but c**p public transport

Tip - go for the 'Public Transportation' desks when you arrive, they can give full cost/time breakdown. Taxis are a rip off - a lot, especially private ones, now automatically add 25% 'gratuity'

I agree with Mr. Benn. Newark. Choice of flights to/from Europe not as good as JFK, but for business purposes, Newark is great to get to and from the city.
