Reported today on sky. Turn back due to 'cockpit smell'. Anyone have any firm knowledge?

Although only (regular) SLF I was actually on this flt in 11D and I can assure you it was a complete non-event. Yes, the capt. asked for a senior cabin crew to go to the flt deck. Yes, it was reported that there was a smell. And yes, they said we were going back to BCN.
But the sky news (I think from a hack from the MWC show) is waay overblown. No manic shouts of "brace brace brace" from the crew. I am not convinced the guy across the aisle from me even woke up.
Irritating to spend an extra night in Barcelona but that's it.

they should spend some money to clean the air cond filters. costs less.
