For anyone interested the DSA website forum has just notified all its members that the AN225 is due in at 15:50 today (16/2) Wouldn't be surprised if the arrival time changes, cargo flights nearly always seem to, but should be quite a sight when it gets here ... due out some time tomorrow apparently.

That should be fun to behold!

New arrival being given as 17.00 - will probably upset the few local anti-airport merchants no end! But not as much as when it blasts off tomorrow!!!

Please get the camera loaded......
A great sight for sure.

The locals will only notice if it's in the paper. Certainly when I heard it (at MAN and EMA a couple of years ago), it was no louder than a 747. The Ryanair 737-200 was louder!

Due out at 8.00am. Have just called Doncaster ATC. Fog at Donc. will probably cause delays. They don't think it will leave at 8.00 but it is the Pilots decision. Fog forecast to clear around 10am. But we all know what forecasts are don't we.

Got a text at 11.50hrs saying it was starting up & a flight plan had been filed.
It took off at 12.20hrs into fog. It's still foggy here 5 miles from DSA

Avman....no, it's not exactly Heathrow, but no ATC unit will appreciate phonecalls from aeroplane spotters:}

SFCC, I speak as one who works in ATC. I imagine that the only complaint DSA ATC staff might have is that the calls wake them up! :} (Just kidding DSA).

Well, I imagine that if ATC in DSA didn't appreciate Legin558's calls (which I'm sure are few) they would be big enough boys and girls to tell him/her so.

EXCUSE ME!! I DIDN'T call ATC at DSA!!!

I think you will find that Legin558
called ATC according to his post if you read back through these posts you will see that!

My information came from a mate who was at the airport listening out on his scanner!!!!

I'm a HIM by the way.

Thanks Trev:}:}:ok::ok:
