I started a new thread seem the last one was closed. Please do NOT make this one get closed for the same reason as the last one.

Ummm

seems a bit of an over-reaction to close the previous thread due to half a dozen posts about an aircraft potentially coming to Jet2 which if so would fundamentally change the outlook and fleet/route opportunities for this airline, particularly if it signifies growth in the current climate.

Especially given that the thread was not closed for days on end of drivel about another airline being oh-so-better than this one blah blah blah.

No wish to pick a fight with the mods but just seems a bit much...have I missed something?

Anyhoo the thread is dead long live the thread (apologies to history & literature):\

I think there is a very small chance of this ..... becasue they did have flight's to and from Cork

Hey dublindispatch,

Unfortunatley it's most likely going to be a limited operation given FR's general reaction of forcing competitors off routes e.g. recent EI and FR skirmishes at Cork.

All the best,

Having attended a recent selection day for cabin crew at LS, there was a rather large hint, from senior staff within LS of possible new trans-Atlantic routes in the near future (no mention of where to/from) but, playing on the ad-hoc charters they have had to and from, notably, New York JFK and Montreal...maybe carrying on some of the ex-GSM?

P ;)

Yep !! this would tie in with the B767's rumors, maybe they will buy some B767's ex-GSM ?? who knows

A key point in the route structure at the moment (assuming their current fleet) is the number of ETOPS capable aircraft. They won't be doing a significant amount of trans-Atlantic routes if their 757 fleet isn't ETOPS capable.

Should they acquire another aircraft (e.g. B767) then they will no doubt be looking for ETOPS capable aircraft to allow them be deployed efficiently on trans-Atlantic routes.

After two days of moderator effort to get this thread back on track it is apparent that isn't going to happen right now so PPRuNe is now taking a Jet2 break.

We will reopen a thread when we chose. No others will be allowed.

To those posters who took a poke at the mods, don't press your luck again.
