my wife and 12 year old are due to travel Air France MAN/CDG/EWR tomorrow (Thursday 11th) but New York has poor weather (not bad though just cold and icy) but looking online it looks like nearly all of todays flights on all carriers are cancelled CDG-NYC. I would suspect this will create a huge backlog of people for tomorrow.

Is there anybody on the ground at CDG with info on how bad it is re getting onto flights etc? Perhaps the flights are all half empty so with some squishing everybody is getting away?

All information appreciated as it would be nice if this trip went well after our easyjet "expedition" to Malta at Xmas...

Don't know about Paris end but all airports around New York are closed due to heavy snow due to end late evening. Boston still open as the storm should pass just south.

Cannot be specific but the standard approach to delays are this:

On the day: all flights carry their regular pax and those delayed from previous flights fit in as and when. Some will accept a long delay (days) before boarding; some will pay an upgrade to get away; some will find alternate routings c/o the carrier or themselves; some will just be no-shows.

So, if you are booked to travel on a particular day and the flight is not canx - then get there SUPER EARLY as you have a better claim on the seat than those delayed.

Just watching the latest weather stuff on Fox News.

It looks like a new storm is going to create a wipe-out of the North-East. DC is submerged again, the PA Gov has closed Interstates ... etc etc.

You have a VERY high probability of a cancelled flight, IMO. Take all appropriate precautions for long delays at airport, especially for the young one. Sorry for you if it doesn't work out.
