Does anyone know if or when Titan will replace there 757 G-ZAPU which is currently stored at Lasham??.

Also Titan put a number of Bae146 aircraft up for sale in September last year. They said they were doing it due to there need for larger capacity aircraft.

BAE Systems Wins Titan Airway BAe 146 Remarketing Mandate - BAE Systems (http://www.baesystems.com/Newsroom/NewsReleases/autoGen_10984113617.html)

Is it still the plan for Titan to dispose of these aircraft ??. If so what aircraft are Titan looking at replacingthe 146's with??

Thanks in advance for any info.

Chatting to a couple of chaps from Titan recently they suggested they may be operating PU again for somebody else, and they have an additional 146 on lease for an overseas contract (a 300 I think)

I was under the impression that they were glad to see ZAPU go.
A very good aircraft in its time, but a bit tired for 2010

BA charter the Bae-146's quite frequently on the London City routes. I flew LCY-GLA on Sunday in a Titan 146

The aircraft is G-BUHB, which is ex Eurowings (D-AEWB) was registered to ZT on 2nd November. It started operating for the MOD in the Middle East 14NOV09.

ZT is the only airline that Cityjet, BACF etc can charter to operate services for them ex LCY. Especially after Flightline went under.

That's why I was suprised they wanted to sell their Bae146's. The LCY ACMI market is a niche market for ZT. If they wanted to modernise their fleet they could add newer RJ85's/RJ100's to replace the 146's. There are a few out there waiting for another operator.

Don't think anyone has RJ Freighters yet do they?
To get rid of the 146 they'd have to either let the LCY work go or lose the mail work... unless they can find an aircraft that can do both of those things?

I think you will find that Titan only wish to downsize by one 146, they intend to keep the other 3 x srs200's and they are not bothered which one goes. Hence the reason for advertising them all, to give the choice to any propective purchaser.

ZT's Bae146's

Is there any reason that G-ZAPK and G-ZAPO are still in the old blue livery?.

Looking at G-INFO it appears that G-ZAPN/O and R are leased by ZT and G-ZAPK is owned by ZT can anyone confirm this??. Does anyone know if they have abandoned there plans to downsize their Bae146-200 fleets by 1 aircraft??.

Maybe they could work with Bae to develop a QC version of the RJ100 or RJ85 to replace the aging 142's.

The Rest Of The Fleet

It seems like ZT's 767 seems to have been kept busy since it was added to the fleet. I know that BA leased it to operate flights on there behalf throughout the strike and EZY have leased the 767 long term from the beginning of July. To cover for the A321's . Anyone know if ZT is happy with the 767 and could we see another one being added in the near future?.

Was the 767 added to the fleet to replace the 757 (G-ZAPU) that left the fleet last year or are ZT still looking for a replacement??

Thanks in advance for any info.....

I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions I have about Titan?
ZT are about or have recently added a RJ100 to there fleet, according to jethros.eu registered G-POWF

The European Airline Scene blog states that the aircraft is to be based in BAH and will operate MOD military shuttle flights in the region. Does anyone know if the RJ100 will be replacing or used to compliment the 146-300 (G-BUHB) that has been operating these services?

Is ZT are still planning to sell one or more of it's 146 fleet?. Do they have any plans to extend there boeing fleet??

Does anyone know what has happend to G-ZAPO. This 146-200 last flew at the end of October. Has it been WFU?, Sold or is it expected to return to the fleet?

Cheers in advance for any info.

G-ZAPO replaced G-BUHB at the end of October, and so hasn't been seen around Europe. Once G-POWF is in service, G-ZAPO will presumably come back.

According to a press release on Titan's new website, Titan will shortly add a further 2 757 aircraft to there fleet. Does anyone know the current aircraft reg of the aircraft that they plan to add??

Two additional 757s (http://www.titan-airways.co.uk/news/two-additional-757s.html)

Does anyone know if they plan to add more aircraft than the two mentioned above in the near future?

The two B752s are 29307/924 and 29308/935 both coming from AtlasJet and being leased from Lloyds. They should be with Titan by the spring of 2012.

Is it true Titan will be basing an aircraft at LGW for summer 2013? If so, what type and who are they operating for? Or is it just a standby unit.

I am sure I have seen it posted elsewhere that the newly acquired A320 would be LGW based for summer 2013 for standby. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Looks like the aircrafts configuration would be suited to all three airlines. Below is some information taken from the Titan website

For ultimate comfort, our Titan Airways A320 will be configured with just 168 brand new all-leather seats. Limiting the aircraft capacity to a maximum of 168 passengers allows for a roomy minimum 31 inch seat pitch throughout the cabin. The seating will be versatile too with approximately 5 rows of variable geometry seats (subject to change) making it possible to offer many variations of split standard/club class cabin. These ingeniously designed seats will convert at the touch of a button from 6 abreast to 4 abreast with a drop down central table.

Sounds like a good fit for BA. S12 saw Titan operate a large number of BA flights using a 737 or 757 aircraft.
It wouldn't be the first time BA have leased a aircraft to act as a standby at LGW. I remember back in 2011 they leased a A320 (G-STRP) from Astraeus for much of the summer

Facelookbovvered
2nd Jun 2013, 17:35
It will be STN base, but you could work from anywhere, but if away from stn it will be in a hotel at titan expense, most of the flying is likely to be LGW based for the likes of BA or Monarch, plus Jet2 stuff add in night mail, private charter, Lourdes pilgrim flights and exclusive Turkey so very varied, good points are very generous expenses when away from base, crew food, reasonable hotels and basic money is industry standard.office staff are great and very professional.

Down sides, 30 min standby call out, paper Jepp's charts (million's of them) for every airport in Europe, manual load sheets, single days off roster very variable with lots of changes due nature of business and XXXX"S in crewing thinks she owns your life.

So good fun for a few months and once on their books you'll get first shot of anything more permeant, but unless you live near to STN or willing to move there for the contract duration i'd pass

FLB, thanks again for the details - much appreciated. I would prefer to be based somewhere at company expense!! I am not sure about moving to STN with my Mrs if offered the contract but ..... IF there are plenty of 737 captains about then Titan will not be interested in me as I am well out of recency; if not then perhaps..........

Titan have confirmed that they will be operating a A320 and a 757 on behalf of Easyjet on a wet lease basis during S14

The 757 will be leased for two months during peak summer and will be based at LGW from mid July to mid September and will and will be configured with a 202Y cabin.

The A320 will be based in Rome Fiumicino Airport from late May to late October and will be converted from it's current 168Y configuration to a higher density 180Y configuration for the duration of the lease.
