Anyone know why SA234 to J'burg was cancelled at LHR today?

SA 234 is a northbound flight so you mean either 235 or 237?

As far as I can see, SA 235 (the 1800 departure from LHR) was only operating last week on MON SAT SUN, and SA 237 (2105 departure) on MON and SUN.

From today the schedule shows SA235 ops daily and 237 ops daily except THU. However the 237 seems to be non-op on several days over the next couple of weeks.

Traditionally as we all know they have both been daily flights, but the loads are abysmal (as in low!) so I would guess that they are consolidating, and that these are not 'cancellations' as such, but re-schedules done on an ad-hoc basis.

235 is correct as per LHR's site. Sounds reasonable especially on such a long route.

Now I've found this: FlightAware > United Air Lines #959 (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL959)

I'm guessing its a mistake right? even though it seems like its happened a few times. personallty NEVER seen a non-widebody american aircraft at LHR though

UA 959 is a LHR ORD DEN flight so I'm not quite sure what this has to do with the SAA query.

I'm not the one that made the comment.

I was simply answering the original question.
