Maybe it was a CTC cadet landing?

That is an entirely unjustified and malicious posting. Having flown with many CTC cadets, I have found them to be both knowledgable and proficient. Considering their relative lack of experience they do a remarkably good job. All of us were inexperienced at some stage of our careers and I wonder how we would have felt about such snide and cheap comments being made behind our backs in such a cowardly way.

CTC cadets etc. have enough bs to put up with without this.

Shame on you.

Its clearly down to the training and the way the company is being run with pilots begging for scraps of food from passengers, how much more can I add in.......................now where is the MEGA sarcasm button before Mods kick my butt again.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Its a couple of tyres than it occured to and could have happened to any airline whether was due to debris on the runway, excessive wear or just bad luck and can happen irrespective of training, ability or length of career.

Aircraft can still be used so clearly was a great landing.

gusting 45: You are absloutely correct! The key difference is that most of us worked our way up, i.e. piston, instructing, turboprop, then jet. We didn't buy a Type Rating and pay to fly while signing contracts that basically ruined this profession. Thanks for the enlightment!

People like these are the same people that will have no problem crossing picket lines and taking your job. Maybe if you weren't so busy playing Papa Smurf then you would see what is taking place in this industry.

I have paid my dues in this business, if you are looking for a culprit in dumbing down this industry then don't look at the CTC cadets. If you have ever spoken to them and found out what they put up with then your attitude may change.

If your going to target everyone who has got into this business easy then you will need to widen your aim.

If ever there is a picket line to face, which I seriously doubt there ever will be unfortunately you will see many more than possibly a few CTC cadets crossing it.

The target for our criticism/approbrium is not in the cockpit it's in the boardroom.

Not interested in getting into a PPRUNE debate on this matter. It was a cheap shot, my previous comments stand.

I cannot see why. These guys are paying to fly and therefore they are nothing more than glorified passengers. If you allow the pax to land the aircraft then it would not be that surprising if they prang it. I am not saying that is what happened here as I have no prior knowledge.

If you select purely in ability to pay the assumption is a reasonable one n my book.

Typical daft spotter question, why did a tyre burst??? where do you want to start???, there are a many reasons why a tyre could burst, mechanical failure, manufacturing defect, poor maintenance, debris on runway, heavy landing, lists endless,

Let's not give the new CTC pilots a hard time, although I did see the joke being made in the first place.

The joke being made put aside, mishaps like these can happen to experienced as-well as the less experienced crews. Lets not forget the BMI A319 that landed at LBA with it's Parking brake on, bursting all tyres:rolleyes::rolleyes:
