I need a source for VFR charts from south of Mexico to include Argentina. Is there a single source I can go to, or do I have to contact the civil aviation authority for each country?

Thanks,

Your best bet for South America are the Operational Navigation Charts (ONC) you can buy them at:

As far as I know, there is no single commercial supplier of VFR charts for Latin America. You would need to contact each country, some have charts, others do not and the quality of service and response time would make collecting these a challenge.

Another option is to get your hands on some Operational Navigation Charts (ONC's) and use IFR charts for airspace and frequency information. You could also contact the Baja Bush Pilots as they often have some good resources available covering down into Central America for their members.

Baja Bush Pilots - Mexico and Central America Airport Guides (http://www.bajabushpilots.com/)

Latin America does not have the amount of VFR recreational aviation enjoyed in the United States and so the support is more limited. Good luck.

Thanks. Good idea on getting IFR charts.

I was hoping we weren't going to rely on ONC's, but they may be the only short term option.

You might try asking Kenn Borek Air of Calgary, AB where they get their charts from. They regularly fly Twin Otters between Canada and the Antarctic. Enterprise Air of Oshawa, ON might also be able to help.
